Rev. Thomas Melugin

Rev. Thomas Madden Melugin became a member of the First Methodist Church, Covington, TN. in 1853. He was licensed to preach in August of 1861 and admitted to the Memphis Conference and was sent to LaGrange Circuit; Randolph Circuit, 1862; and the Huntingdon Circuit, 1863. He contracted tuberculosis and received a supernumerary in 1864 and 1865. He continued to serve the church at Covington Station as his health allowed. His official obituary was contributed by the Methodist Publishing House, Nashville Tennessee, from Minutes of the Annual Conference of the Methodist Church, South for the Year 1866, p. 52. He never married.
