The 4th Infantry Division Chorus as represented in this recording
was manned entirely by members of the 4th Infantry Division Band.
The normal complement hovered around 34 members. The Christmas music
was rehearsed, arranged and conducted by the late Sp5 Leon Warbington,
a Julliard graduated. The band and chorus were commanded by CWO
Arthur Durham. These cuts were recorded in the Division Support
Command Chapel on Camp Enari, near Plieku Vietnam during Dec. of
1968. The recording conditions were a LOT less than ideal. The tape
recorder used was a Sony 355 reel to reel. Only two mikes were used
and no mixing was available. The power supply was a diesel generator
that caused significant voltage fluctuations. The Chapel itself
had a cement floor and plywood walls. Needless to say the acoustics
were terrible.
